Grand Caravan is chosen for its short field performance, high payload capacity and low operating costs. The Caravan can carry 12 passengers with2 pilots or up to 4,548 lbs (2,062kgs) in payload; the aircraft requires only 414 meter in ground roll for take-off – suitable for almost all unprepared airfield.

The Caravan is certified for unprepared airfields, allowing the aircraft to operate from roads and cleared areas – there is no need for heavy investment in runway infrastructure. Ideally suited for either passengers or freight the aircraft can even be configured as a combi with 4-6 passengers loaded through the forward door and freight the rear double door.
